City-Strategy Consultation

The Strategy Implementation Plan should now identify drivers, vision, targets, strategic objectives and projects and actions. Use this opportunity to consult with the core team and wider stakeholders in order to finalise the plan. A workshop is a convenient way in which to do this.

You could also discuss the draft SIP at one-to-one meetings with the main stakeholders who were identified in Step 1. If they have been part of the process to develop the Strategy and Plan then your task will be easier. If they have not been directly involved then ensure that they have a fundamental understanding of carbon reduction and its relationship to the design of the plan and the potential benefits to them individually and to the city as a whole.

Having obtained comments from the stakeholders you can now make revisions to the Plan that take them into account. Bear in mind that your revisions should be made so that any objections from blocking stakeholders can be overcome. This will help ensure approval at the next step.
