To celebrate progress made to date within the Low Carbon Cities Programme, a high profile event was held on 22nd May in Birmingham, to share good practice between all eight of the core cities. Tom Delay, Chief Executive of the Carbon Trust, and Fraser Winterbottom, Director of Delivery for the Energy Saving Trust, provided opening thoughts, before each of the three participating cities – Bristol, Leeds and Manchester - updated delegates on their experiences of the Low Carbon Cities Programme. Delegates also enjoyed guided tours of the new Combined Heat and Power plant at the Birmingham ICC. We were delighted that senior representatives from a wide range of stakeholders from each of the eight core cities, as well as policy makers, influencers and thought leaders from across England, were able to join us for this interactive, lively and informative conference.
