Friday 29th February - Manchester Stakeholder Event

All 10 local authorities in Greater Manchester are closely involved in the development of an Environment Commission for the area - and climate change is its first priority.  This event brought together senior representatives from a cross-section of public and private sector organisations from the city-region to inform work that has already begun and to help prioritise the areas for action.

The Manchester team has already established an opportunity to discuss ideas further with the private sector, at a meeting hosted by the Chamber of Commerce in mid-April.  This sector-specific approach will also be utilised with the health and academic sectors across the city-region.  A series of taskgroups are also expected to be set up to take forward specific action areas identified at the Stakeholder Event at the end of February.
